Smithville Empty Bowl Project

  • Smithville Rec Center 106 Gazley Street Smithville, TX, 78957 United States (map)

Saturday, March 28, 2026

The Empty Bowl Project is a national grassroots effort to fight hunger. The basic premise is simple: Potters and
other craftspeople and volunteers create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and
bread. In exchange for a donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the
world. The money raised is donated to organizations working to end hunger and food insecurity.

Join us for a bowl of soup, some dessert, a student-made bowl to take home, a silent auction and a raffle!

The Smithville Empty Bowl benefits the following organizations:
* Smithville Food Pantry
* Smithville Community Gardens
* Lost Pines Artisans' Alliance
* Samella Williams' Angels Unaware Ministry
* Smithville Community Clinic

Contact us if you want to donate something to the silent auction or if you want to host a bowl painting party.

Event Tickets are $20 each and include a student made bowl (while supplies last) and lunch: soup, bread, water or tea.
